Review: Don 2: The Chase Continues is a sequel to the ‘Super hit’ film Don that released in 2006 which itself was a remake of the 1978 film with the same name. It is the story of a powerful sharp-minded criminal Don. There are a few characters from the previous film whereas a few new characters have been introduced in this film.
Farhan Akhtar is back as a director after a long gap of 5 years and seriously speaking he hasn’t taken even a single step wrong but has established himself as a brilliant storyteller with this film. He has also done the scripting and dialogues of the film. The film starts of from the last dialogue of the previous film and it even has some similarities with the previous film. They remind the viewers of the previous film. At the beginning the film seems slow which was necessary and viewers come to know that in the later half of the film that is jam-packed with action/thrill/suspense. The music and background score of the film is all right and matches the Screenplay. Sections haven’t liked the music of this biggie but when seen in the film music seems fine. Editing is mind-blowing just like the previous part.
Shahrukh as Don has delivered a power-packed performance as expected and is fantastic with his dialogues. Priyanka has come a long way from the previous film when she was a rookie and now she is a superstar. She plays her character with ease. Boman Irani looks fantastic in the negative shades. Om Puri, Kunal Kapoor, Aly Khan, Lara Dutta, Kunal Kapoor and Nawab Shah have all done justice to their roles. Hrithik’s cameo came as a surprise in the film.
Overall this film has what it promised and can be enjoyed both in 2D as well as 3D.
