Instead of flaunting an international designer gown, the brand ambassador of the awards show chose to dress Indian on the first day of the two-day event Bipasha Basu tweeted a photograph of her in a Shivan and Narresh sari, all set to walk the green carpet at the Indian International Academy Awards 2012 in Singapore. And we must say she makes a stunning picture in the brown and black sari. Everything from the Bong babe’s straight hair to her spaghetti choli to her block style sari to her sexy body gets our thumbs up! We like that though a sari is essentially traditional wear, the designer’s contemporary style makes it a perfect blend of Indian and western sensibilities. We also love that Bips has done away with her usual kitschy, blingy, sequined drapes and settled for a much more elegantly stark version of the Indian garb.
