Review: Paan Singh Tomar was an athlete who ruled the steeplechase event at the Indian National Games for 7 years in a row and whose record stood unbeaten for 10 years, but, he became even more (in) famous when he gave up his running shoes and went on to become a dacoit and wreaked havoc in the Chambal Valley in Madhya Pradesh. Paan Singh Tomar is the true epic journey of a talented athlete turned rebel. Director Tigmanshu Dhulia's most ambitious project till date has finally seen the light of the day after being sealed in the box for 4 long years. PST is over 5 years old and still seems fresh when one sees it on-screen. The story has been brilliantly penned as well as executed on screen. It goes the same for editing and the dialogues. All the departments have been well taken care of by the director who himself has done a great job in making the biopic look like a Masala Entertainer. I would like to give a special mention for the Editing of the film that is done by Aarti Bajaj and she has done a fabulous job putting together her best effort in making the film look fresh. Now lets discuss the performances. Irrfan Khan who is playing the role of a runner in the film has run away with all the credits for acting. I would call it as his best performance till date in whatever I have seen of him. If I were to give marks for his acting only then it would have been a 100/100. Mahie Gill impresses in a short but character driven role. Zakir Hussain is superb as always as a Cop. Rest of the cast has also done a perfect job. This 150 minutes long film surprisingly came without any musical number, which was quite surprising but still the viewer does not realize this tiil the end. Overall, PST is a brilliantly made film and that too straight from the heart. I would recommend this film for all you readers out there. Paisa Vasool: 80/100
