Bollywood’s who’s who were seen at the People’s Choice Awards 2012 Indian edition, but Saif Ali Khan was conspicuous by his absence

The People’s Choice Awards were held in India for the first time on October 27, 2012 in Mumbai. In attendance were B-town’s fave faces, including Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Darsheel Safary, Rakhi Sawant,
Ayushmann Khurrana, Parineeti Chopra, Chitrangda Singh, Ekta Kapoor, Bhagyashree, Prabhu Deva, Hema Malini and Sameera Reddy.
Kareena Kapoor was expected to perform along with husband Saif Ali Khan in what was supposed to be the couple’s first performance post wedding. But Saif didn’t turn up and Kareena danced alone to her hit numbers. According to Bebo, her husband was “chilling at home”, though the PR story is that he was unwell.
Among the major awardees were Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan and Yash Raj Films. YRF took home the Favourite Film Award for Ek Tha Tiger – a blockbuster that starred current box office superhero Salman Khan and his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif. Ranbir Kapoor was chosen for the Favourite Youth Movie Icon award. Amitabh Bachchan won the Best Host award for Kaun Banega Crorepati? – a quiz show that he first hosted way back in 2000. The superstar is anchoring the current season of the show, KBC 6 right now and was shooting for it at the same venue as the award function.
Priyanka Chopra’s first single In my city got her the best debut award, which left her ecstatic. So much so that she is said to have hugged her arch rival Katrina Kaif. Seems like the two girls were bonding over Salman Khan now! But maybe it was because Katrina got the Best Actress award and her Ek The Tiger hot number Mashallah was adjudged the Best Song. Meanwhile, Priyanka also performed to songs from late Yash Chopra‘s films as a tribute to the filmmaker.
In TV, Ekta Kapoor’s popular show Bade Acche Lagte Hain got two trophies. The stars of the show Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar were seen at the ceremony along with other TV actors. London Olympics 2012 medalists MC Mary Kom, Vijender Singh, Gagan Narang, Yogeshwar Dutt and Sushil Kumar were felicitated by Katrina.
